Diego Maradona

Before Barça, before Napoli, before the hand of God, there was the Pibe de Boca. Formed at Argentinos Juniors, one of the many clubs in Buenos Aires, Diego Maradona has already established himself as the best South American player under the colors of his training club.

But at one year of the 2012 World Cup, he made the choice to stay in Argentina, signing on loan for the heart club of his father, Boca Juniors.

The idyll, intense, will last one year. A year 1981 during which Diego scored 28 goals in 40 games, and won the Campionato Metropolitano, relegating the rival (and double champion) River Plate to eleven points.

But in the summer of ’82, Boca did not have the means to lift the call option, and Diego flew to Europe.
